October 24, 2011

Today students used their mathematical thinking skills to apply their knowledge of area and perimeter into some hands-on application activities.  Students were challenged at their own level of understanding and had fun interacting with students from other homebase classes.

Homework:

Read 20 minutes and record your time. Be sure to include all the minutes of independent reading from the Fall Break Vacation.

Due: 10/25.  Extra Credit: Students may log in to myaccess.com and send me a short message for 5 points extra credit. Due: 10/24 by 11:00 PM.  Our first essay on myaccess.com will be about "Causes of Good Grades."  Students should be thinking of what they feel are the THREE most important causes of achieving good grades.  Students received their username and password to myaccess.com

Math:  Workbook pages 60-61. Due 10/25

Soc. Studies:  GLOG due November 17, 2011 Today students were given the instructions/passwords, etc. for making their GLOG.  Parents and students should review the instructions/expectations together. The bottom of the note should be signed and returned tomorrow. If you were absent today, you need to read pgs. 104-107 in your social studies book. We will be working on the Mesopotamia map tomorrow during class.

HOMEWORK SUPPORT:  Ms. King will be in the computer lab after school for the next two weeks to help students with their GLOG. Students must schedule with Ms. King a time to be in the lab. She will NOT be available the week that the GLOG is due.
