October 13 2011

Homework:

Read 20 minutes and record your time.

Language Arts:  DOL Sentences #8-10 Due: 10/17.  Memorize poem: "The Road Not Taken." Due: Monday, October 17.  If students have followed instructions and memorized one line per day since it was assigned on September 26, they should just about have the poem completely memorized.  If students have procrastinated, they have until Monday morning to memorize it.  Remember to practice saying it LOUD, SLOW, CLEAR, and with EXPRESSION.  (Hint: The slower you say it, the better the expression!)

Science:  No homework.

Math:pg. 53-54 in workbook, due Friday.
  
Reading: New story "Franklin R. Chang-Diaz" started early because of short week next week. Spelling 3 times and definitions with sentences were done in class. Read the story tonight for your 20 minutes of reading and answer questions 1-6 at the end in complete sentences with the question in the answer. This will all be due Monday, 10/17, during class time. "Chuck Close" spelling tests need to be signed and returned by Tuesday, 10/18, with any missed words written correctly 7 times.

Soc. Studies:  Watch the CNN clip. Describe, in your opinion, what habit(s) the Chilean miners used in order to survive their ordeal one year ago today on edmodo. Explain your choices.
Make sure to PROOF your sentence(s) before you submit your assignment. I will not be correcting your work for this assignment, BUT your post (assignment) will be deleted if there are mistakes. Type your post under REPLY. This is different!  Your sentence(s) is/are due Monday before midnight or Tuesday during class.
