HOMEWORK:

Read 20 minutes and record in planner.

Get planner signed.

Reading: Spelling tests were passed back today and need to be signed by a parent. Missed words need to be rewritten correctly 7 times please. The comp/vocab test on "A Kind of Grace" was given today. New spelling words 3 times and vocabulary definitions with sentences out of the glossary for"Under the Royal Palms" due Thursday, 9/29. Spelling test will be next Tuesday, after the Autobiography is completed.

Vocabulary: accountant, ledgers, meticulous, certified, trinkets, relegated, figurines,

accessible, humble, and makeshift.

Spelling words (plurals): f changed to v, add –es  halves, calves, shelves, loaves, wolves, scarves  add –es  potatoes, echoes, volcanoes, heroes  add –s   pianos, cellos, solos, altos, sopranos, staffs, stereos, chiefs, studios, ratios.

Language Arts:  DOL Sentences #4-6 Due: 9/28.  Memorize poem: "The Road Not Taken." Practice it LOUD, SLOW, AND CLEAR.  Poem presentation is due Monday, October 17.  Memorize one line per day, and you'll have it memorized in time.  I STRONGLY encourage students to not procrastinate working on this assignment. Remember: "Big Rocks First!"

Math:  Proportional reasoning Homework Pg 1-13 Due Wed.

Science:  No homework.

Social Studies:  CNN report 9-22 due tonight before midnight online or during class tomorrow. Otzi sentence due Thursday.  Asian Country Quiz Tuesday October 4.
Countries to study:  Bangladesh, Myanmar, Thailand, Cambodia, Laos, Vietnam, Philippines, Malaysia, Brunei, Singapore, Indonesia, Japan, North and South Korea, Mongolia, China, and Taiwan.
