Reading: There are five elements of a myth that should be written in reading notebooks. There are three types of myths (nature, hero, and creation) that are illustrated by the three myths written in the red book. All three myths need to be read, labeled, and elements written down by Monday if not finished in class today. Homophone spelling test on Monday, also.
Math: Pages 148-150 in the workbook and the class activity of making prisms out of nets.
Science: Science Fair application is due next Thursday -- January 12th. It needs to be completely filled out and signed by the student and the parent. Find something fun and interesting to do. If you have questions read the papers sent home today or email me.

Soc. Studies: TEST on Monday! Practice the European countries by playing the three games on edmodo If you can score 100% in the games, you will score 100% on the test.
Science: No homework due tomorrow. The skies are finally clear, so keep tracking and drawing the moon phases. The moon is waxing (getting bigger) and we are heading towards a full moon. It will be fun to watch it this week. We'll turn in the moon phase and constellation paper next Thursday, January 12.

Reading: Myth Spelling Words Homophones (greek homo=same + phon=sound): fir/fur, scent/sent, scene/seen, vain/vein, principal/principle, manor/manner, who's/whose, tacks/tax, hangar/hanger, died/dyed, phase/faze, burrow/burro/borough. Test is next Monday, 1/9. Words written 3 times due tomorrow, 1/4.
Math: Pg 141- Read letter with parent and get it signed. Pg 144 Puzzled Penguin.
Science: Stars and Moon Phases due January 12. Keep tracking the moon phases.
2-Liter empty, cleaned, label-removed bottles by January 13 (75 for the whole grade).
Shoe box for instrument by January 24. Many students brought on the beginning of the year, so we found who needs one today.
